In a very surprising news drop on a Friday, we learned that Keyonte George signed a five year, $157.5 million extension to remain a Jazzman through the 2031-32 season!

This figure comes in quite a bit less than a lot of the media was prognosticating - what did the market suggest and why did George sign this deal?

This is also a remarkable turn of events for the lead guard who, for his first two years, had a very uncertain NBA future. A stellar third season showcased his sky-high potential and made Utah willing to plunk down 5 years of big guaranteed money to bet on his future.
